LED display four introductory knowledge

1. LED concepts and types
LEDs, or light-emitting diodes, are tiny electronic semiconductors that convert electrical energy into visible light. The types of chemicals used in LEDs determine their color, brightness and power. The LED lamp has no filament, and the filament of the incandescent lamp will not burn or damage.
LEDs are available in two different forms, surface-mounted and in-line packaging. Surface stickers refer to the way the LED lead frame is installed. The LED lamp bead is mounted on a surface of the circuit board. The SMD contains red, green and blue chips. The in-line LED is connected to the circuit board through the lead, and the position is higher. Each LED lamp bead is a red, green and blue monochrome lamp bead.
2. SMD
Because it does not have a directional reflector cup, the surface mount LED lamp beads emit light without focusing. Instead, the light is evenly spread across horizontal and vertical angles, providing a wider viewing angle. This makes surface mounted LED displays ideal for most indoor applications as well as some compact outdoor applications.
Table stick LED display advantage:
Excellent color mixing performance for close viewing;
No color shift at extreme angles;
Wide viewing angle.
3. in-line DIP
In-line LED lamp adopts reflector cup and epoxy lens assembly. This combination, and the type of chip used, determines the elliptical cone. The reflector cup of the in-line LED concentrates the light to a specific angle area.
In-line LED display advantage:
Distance viewing optimization;
Higher contrast in sunlight;
Black matte reduces reflection;
Brightness is higher than the table.
4. LED screen indicators
1. Module
LED modules are the "building block parts" that make up the video wall ". The arrangement of the modules depends on the product, market and use.
2. Pixels
Pixels are short for image elements and are the basic points of light that form letters, numbers, graphics, and videos. A pixel may be a single LED, a plurality of LEDs of the same color, or a plurality of LEDs of different colors. They are the smallest elements that make up an electronic display system and can be independently controlled or switched on and off at different brightness levels.
3. Resolution
Resolution is the number of pixels within a physical area of an electronic display screen. The greater the number of pixels per unit area, the greater the detail display capability. Resolution is determined by display size, pixel technology, pixel pitch, and viewing distance. The following is a comparison of the effects of three different point spacings:
4. Visual Angle
When choosing a display, you can consider the position and angle at which it will be installed. The best image is obtained within the viewing cone of the display screen, so it is preferable to arrange the possible viewing positions of the viewer within the viewing cone.
The viewing angle or viewing area is greater than the optimal viewing angle, depending on the site conditions and ambient light.
5. Viewing distance
The calculation of viewing distance is mainly based on the type of indoor and outdoor display and the distance from the display. Each display has a minimum and maximum viewing distance, based on application and usage considerations.
Larger characters will have a longer viewing distance and smaller ones will be shorter. Pixel spacing also varies between indoor and outdoor applications.
